The Anglo Portuguese alliance is the oldest in the world still in force, first signed in London in 1373 and sealed again at Windsor in 1386. Six centuries of kings, wars and treaties have come and gone since, and the promise underneath has held, because it was made between parties who each had something the other needed and chose to keep their word. A business introduction across the Bay of Biscay is the same promise, made small.

Elaine Godley holds the Portuguese end of the Bridge, and meets people in person in the Algarve. She founded The DISCPlus Academy, which trains coaches, leaders and teachers to use DISC behavioural profiling alongside physical wellbeing, and she mentors chief executives and chief operating officers as an Executive Health Mentor. Before that she spent more than twenty five years in the C-suite, including as a COO and a managing partner, and as a business turnaround consultant.
